MULSHI: Continuous torrential rains over the last three days have completely disrupted normal life across Mulshi taluka. Several areas have faced severe waterlogging, bringing vehicular traffic to a complete standstill.
As a precautionary safety measure, the administration has completely closed the famous Tamhini Ghat road—a crucial route connecting the region to Konkan. The decision comes after multiple incidents of land cave-ins and landslides were reported at various spots throughout the ghat section.
Power Outages and Severe Damage in Hinjawadi
The heavy downpour, accompanied by strong winds, uprooted electricity poles in the Urawade area, snapping power supply across multiple parts of the taluka. Main roads in prominent localities like Maan, Hinjawadi, and Bhugaon have virtually turned into overflowing rivers. In light of the incessant rainfall, schools have been declared closed for two consecutive days.
The Maan-Hinjawadi area, widely known as a major IT hub, has been severely hit by waterlogging. Roads completely submerged under water have caused extensive damage to numerous parked and passing vehicles.
Administrative Advisory: The local administration has issued an urgent appeal to citizens, urging them to stay indoors and venture out only in case of absolute emergencies.
