Pune : A 17-year-old youth, Deepak Suresh Khade, went missing after entering the waters of a stream to take a bath in Pimpri, located in the tribal hilly region of Ambegaon taluka, around 9:30 AM on Wednesday. Despite a prompt search operation launched by the Ghodegaon Police, no trace of Deepak was found till 7:45 PM, causing deep anxiety among his family members.

According to the information received, Deepak Khade and his elder brother Vikas Suresh Khade (age 24) had gone to the stream to remove their agricultural water pump to prevent it from getting damaged due to heavy rainfall. After taking out the motor, Vikas moved ahead to dismantle the starter. During this time, Deepak left his clothes, slippers, and mobile phone on the bank and entered the stream to bathe. When he did not return for a long time, Vikas started searching for him, only to find his clothes, footwear, and phone lying on the shore.

Upon receiving information about the incident, relatives and the Ghodegaon Police rushed to the spot. Assistant Police Inspector Sagar Pawar is present at the site along with his team. However, continuous rainfall, the strong current of the stream, and the water flowing into the river downstream are posing significant hurdles to the search operation. Sarpanch Laxman Mavale stated that the taluka administration has been informed and the process to seek assistance from the NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) team is underway.
