BARAMATI : Under the Sant Gadge Baba Unnat Gram Yojana, a district-level technical guidance workshop was held at Baramati Panchayat Samiti to drive technology-based and sustainable development across 10 selected villages in Baramati taluka. Jointly organized by Pune Zilla Parishad and COEP Technological University, the workshop provided detailed guidance to Gram Panchayat representatives on preparing modern village development drafts using advanced technology.

Organized under the leadership of Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Gajanan Patil, the workshop saw large participation from Sarpanchs, Upsarpanchs, Gram Sevaks, Block Development Officers (BDOs), Extension Officers, and Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members representing the 10 selected villages: Katewadi, Morgaon, Dorlewadi, Pandare, Gunwadi, Wanewadi, Pimpli, Supe, Karanje, and Murum.

Experts from COEP Technological University briefed participants on conducting scientific needs assessments through Diagnostic Need Assessment (DNA) surveys, preparing district technology inventories, performing technical feasibility studies, drafting Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), financial planning, and inter-departmental coordination. The sessions highlighted practical applications for rural growth, including smart agriculture, water supply, wastewater and solid waste management, digital Gram Panchayats, e-governance, healthcare, education, animal husbandry, renewable energy, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), drone technology, SCADA systems, and telemedicine.

Speaking at the event, CEO Gajanan Patil stated that the Sant Gadge Baba Unnat Gram Yojana is not merely a public works scheme, but a synthesis of community participation, modern technology, and sustainable growth. He emphasized that tailored development plans will be drafted based on each village’s specific local needs, executed through seamless coordination among Gram Panchayats, Panchayat Samitis, the Zilla Parishad, and technical institutions.

DNA Survey Scheduled in Selected Villages Next Week

The Diagnostic Need Assessment (DNA) survey across all 10 selected villages is set to be completed next week. The findings will form the foundation for technology-driven development blueprints tailored to each village. Following approval from the Gram Sabhas, feasibility studies, and DPR preparation, implementation of various development initiatives will commence. Officials expressed confidence that this initiative will establish these Baramati villages as model benchmark communities for technology-driven, eco-friendly, and sustainable rural development.
