Pune: The political atmosphere in Pune has intensified over the Lokmanya Nagar redevelopment project. Aaditya Thackeray, Shiv Sena (UBT) youth leader and Legislative Party leader, has officially entered the fray, launching a scathing attack on the BJP-led government. He raised serious concerns regarding the stay order placed on the project by the Chief Minister’s Office.

During a meeting held at Lokmanya Nagar, Aaditya Thackeray interacted with local residents and assured them of his unwavering support. He stated that he stands firmly with the residents and found it suspicious that the Chief Minister’s Office stayed the project immediately upon the recommendation of the local MLA, calling the decision an injustice to the citizens.

Taking an aggressive stance, Thackeray vowed to protect the homes of the locals at any cost. He warned that if there is any attempt to use bulldozers forcibly in the future, he will be the first person to stand in front of them. He emphasized that no attack on the homes and rights of the people will be tolerated and demanded that the government find an immediate solution.

Advocate Ganesh Satpute, who is actively involved in the movement, also targeted the government by stating that their struggle will not stop until the residents receive justice. He insisted that no one’s rights should be infringed upon in the name of redevelopment and demanded that the government communicate clearly with the citizens. Satpute further noted that the public anger is a direct result of administrative negligence and warned that they would resort to even more intense protests if the administration continues to keep people in the dark.

The meeting saw a massive turnout as residents attended with their families alongside members of the Lokmanya Nagar Bachao Kriti Samiti to voice their opposition.
