New Delhi : The political atmosphere in New Delhi remains highly charged following a police lathi-charge on a protest rally led by Abhijit Dipke and the Cockroach Janata Party on Monday. Adding momentum to the ongoing agitation demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the Congress party launched a major demonstration near Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official residence on Lok Kalyan Marg on Tuesday.

Led by Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Priyanka Gandhi, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar, Raja Warring, and Deepender Hooda, MPs and party workers marched from Kharge’s residence toward the Prime Minister’s home before staging a sit-in on the road. The unexpected protest created significant commotion in the area, leading police to detain several Congress MPs and forcibly remove activists in security vehicles. Speaking on X (formerly Twitter), Rahul Gandhi accused the government of reacting with cruelty toward protesting students, dodging accountability, and refusing to allow a parliamentary discussion on the issue.
