Pune : The Daund police have exposed a counterfeit currency manufacturing gang operating in Daund city, resulting in the arrest of five individuals. Police Inspector Hemant Shedge confirmed the news, stating that the operation was carried out on Monday by a dedicated team from the Daund Police Station.

The arrested accused have been identified as Hitesh Chidanand Chalwadi (26, resident of Pasalkar Vasti, Daund), Prem Sanjay Manjule (23, resident of Moshi, Pune; originally from Hanuman Nagar, Daund), Vinod Vishnu Munde (29, resident of Narhe, Pune; originally from Parli Vaijnath, Beed), Ranjit Bhaskarrao Digraj (36, resident of Bhosari, Pune; originally from Akola), and Omkar Satish More (22, resident of Devgaon, Beed).

Following their arrest, all five suspects were produced before the Daund Court, which remanded them to seven days of police custody and authorized house searches at their residences. During the raid, the police seized machinery, materials used for printing fake notes, and other vital evidence. Further investigation is currently underway under the guidance of Police Inspector Hemant Shedge to determine whether the gang was circulating fake currency in Daund and its surrounding areas.
