PUNE: In one of its largest recent anti-encroachment drives, the Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) Construction and Development Department took decisive action against illegal structures in the Hadapsar and Manjari areas, demolishing nearly 90,000 square feet of unauthorized development.

Using heavy machinery, including jaw cutters and JCB excavators, PMC teams tore down illegal RCC structures, slabs, walls, columns, and other unapproved developments built without requisite sanctions.

The extensive operation was carried out under the guidance of City Engineer Aniruddha Pawaskar and Superintending Engineer Pravin Shende, and executed on the ground by Executive Engineer Santosh Lanjekar, Deputy Engineer Sandeep Shinde, and Junior Engineer Rameez Faras. To prevent any untoward incidents, heavy police bandobast was deployed, ensuring the drive concluded smoothly and peacefully.

Warning against further violations, PMC authorities emphasized that strict legal action against illegal constructions will intensify in the coming days.

Citizens should strictly avoid purchasing plots in unauthorized layouts or flats in illegal constructions. If anyone comes across such illegal activities, they should immediately report it to the Pune Municipal Corporation.
