Pune : A horrific road accident occurred near Prayagdham Phata under the jurisdiction of Uruli Kanchan Police Station in Haveli Taluka on Friday (January 23) around 6:30 AM. A Scorpio (MH 42 BS 3855) traveling from Mumbai toward Karmala lost control and crashed into a tree on the roadside. The impact was so severe that the front of the vehicle was completely mangled, resulting in the death of one passenger on the spot and leaving three others critically injured.

Loss of Control Leads to Fatality

According to preliminary information, the accident happened when the driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle, causing the speeding SUV to ram violently into a tree. The deceased has been identified as Gorakh Tryambak Mane. The three injured individuals are Samadhan Ankush Babar (25, a banana businessman from Kugao, Karmala), Vijay Suryakant Mane, and Alikesh Khan. All the injured have been rushed to a nearby hospital for intensive treatment.

Returning from a Business Meeting in Mumbai

Reports indicate that Samadhan Babar, along with his maternal uncle Vijay Mane, his cousin uncle Gorakh Mane, and their friend Alikesh Khan, had traveled to Mumbai for a meeting regarding banana exports. After finishing their work on Thursday evening, they began their journey back to Karmala. Around 6:30 AM on Friday, while passing through the Hadapsar-Pune area, Vijay Mane was at the wheel. Gorakh Mane, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, died in the crash, while Samadhan and Alikesh were in the rear seats.

The Uruli Kanchan Police are conducting a detailed investigation into the incident and are working to gather complete details of the deceased. A wave of mourning has spread across the region following this tragic news.
