Pune : Notices have been issued to 85 people in the Bhor city limits, specifically from Rambag Naka to Shivaji statue, instructing them to remove encroachments within the next seven days. This action is part of the dual carriageway construction for the 81.16 km long road stretch from Shindewadi in Satara district’s Khandala tehsil to Mahad in Raigad district. The route was declared National Highway No. 965DD in January 2023. The Central Government’s Ministry of Road Transport and Highways had sanctioned a fund of ₹823 crore 13 lakh for the road work. This project includes roads within Bhor (Pune district), Satara, and Mahad (Raigad district) tehsils. Road work began on both sides in the Raigad and Pune district boundaries one and a half years ago. Now, a 1.400 km stretch of road from Rambag Naka to Mahad Naka within Bhor city is to be widened to a four-lane road. However, increasing encroachment on both sides of the road between Rambag and Mahad Naka has made it impossible to start the widening work. Consequently, the Nagar Parishad (Municipal Council) issued notices to 86 people in the area between Rambag and Shivaji statue. The notices instruct the concerned individuals to remove their encroachments within seven days of receiving the notice. The administration warned that if the encroachment is not removed within the deadline, they will remove it according to the rules and initiate legal action.
