Pune : The TVS Apache RTX has solidified its position as a game-changer in the Indian motorcycling landscape by winning the prestigious Indian Motorcycle of the Year (IMOTY) 2026 award. Presented by JK Tyre, this honor reflects the industry’s recognition of TVS’s successful leap into the adventure-rally touring segment.

A Landmark Achievement for TVS Motor Company

The TVS Apache RTX secured the top prize after a rigorous evaluation by a 27-member jury consisting of India’s most respected automotive journalists. It outperformed a competitive shortlist of seven other motorcycles, including the KTM 390 Adventure and the electric Ultraviolette X47. This victory marks TVS’s third IMOTY title, highlighting their continued dominance in innovation, performance, and engineering tailored for Indian riders.

The Legacy of Rally DNA

Speaking on the victory, Mr. Vimal Sumbly, Head of Premium Business at TVS, emphasized that the Apache RTX is the culmination of 40 years of racing excellence and 35 years of rally experience. Built on the all-new RT-XD4 platform, the motorcycle was designed from the ground up to embody a “Rally Touring” spirit. The award coincides with the 20th anniversary of the Apache brand, which now boasts a global community of over 6.5 million enthusiasts.

Engineering and Performance Excellence

Launched in October 2025, the Apache RTX introduces several firsts for the brand. It is powered by a 299.1cc liquid-cooled engine producing approximately 36 PS and 28.5 Nm of torque. The bike is designed to be versatile, featuring four distinct ride modes—Urban, Rain, Tour, and Rally—which adjust the ABS and traction control settings to suit different terrains. Its lightweight steel trellis frame and long-travel WP suspension ensure it remains nimble on city streets while being rugged enough for off-road exploration.

Premium Features and Technology

The Apache RTX is packed with rider-centric technology aimed at the modern explorer. It features a 5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity and map mirroring, cruise control, and a bi-directional quickshifter for seamless gear changes. Safety is enhanced through switchable dual-channel ABS and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) available in the premium Built-To-Order (BTO) variants. Starting at an introductory price of ₹1.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the RTX offers a high-value proposition that balances premium performance with everyday usability.
