Pune : The free dialysis unit at the Yavat Rural Hospital has become a lifeline for patients suffering from kidney ailments in the Daund taluka. Medical Superintendent Dr. Kishore Patki recently shared that the unit has successfully completed over 1,300 dialysis procedures within its first year of operation—all provided 100% free of charge.
Capacity: The unit operates 5 dialysis machines, providing treatment to 10 patients daily. Collaboration: The facility was established through a joint initiative of the State Government, the Central Government, and HLL Labs, with significant efforts from MLA Rahul Kul.
Local Impact: Patients from Daund and surrounding areas no longer need to travel to Pune or other cities for expensive private treatments.
One-Year Anniversary Celebration
To mark the completion of its first year, a special event was held where five patients were felicitated. The event was attended by kidney specialist Dr. Rajesh Shinde, Medical Superintendent Dr. Kishore Patki, In-charge Sister Bharti Kharade, and technicians Yogiraj Chaudhary and Dattatray Handal.
During the session, Dr. Patki and Yogiraj Chaudhary conducted a guidance seminar for patients, offering vital advice on:
